It should be noted that Ciampi was not shocked by standing on the taser wires. One of the probes lodged into Ciampi's arm and the other probe grazed Ciampi's chin causing a small abrasion ricocheting into the fence. The fence and ground were wet from rain that occurred earlier in the morning and the night before. Ciampi was barefoot. The wet surfaces created a circuit between the two probes sending an electrical charge into Ciampi's arm through Ciampi's chest down his torso and through leg and foot on the wet ground.
